We’ve covered a lot over these past few weeks. In math, we’ve covered double digit multiplication and division with decimals and are ready to test. In writing. we’ve moved from narrative writing to informational. In reading students have finished reading Mixed-up Files of Basil E. Frankweiler and learning how to use evidence, summarize, and compare and contrast. In social studies we’ve finished learning about early European explorers.
In math, we will assess students on double digit division and then move froward with fractions. In writing, we will begin informational writing. In reading, we will put a strong emphasis on non- fiction text features, main idea, and compare and contrast. In social studies, we will learn about early settlements in the U.S.. In science we will begin our next round of rotations. Please be on the lookout for an invite to volunteer in the classroom to help out for our holiday party.
Thank you all for making it to conferences. Thank you to the room parents and volunteers that continue to make arrangements to help in class. Thank you to those that were able to come out and volunteer for our field trip to History Park. Happy Holidays to all of you! May your time with the students be well spent and memorable.
