We’ve covered a lot over these past few weeks. In math, we’ve covered equivalent adding and subtracting fractions including whole numbers, mixed numbers, and improper fractions. In writing, we’ve continued with informational writing and finished our fist essay on the stamp act. In reading, we’ve finished our global read aloud and finished with point of view. Many themes were pulled out from the book and great discussions were had. We’ve also been reading non-fiction literature to try and understand main idea. In social studies we’ve finished our Walk Through the American Revolution.
In math, we will continue learning about fractions and begin to multiply and divide them. In writing, we will begin an informational essay ona topic of interest. In reading we will continue reading non-fiction articles and historical fiction for main idea. We’ve just started a book called Unbroken (adapted for young adults). In science, students are in their last rotation. In social studies students will learn about the declaration of independence and the bill of rights.
